As a Jr. Surface Landman on the Operating team at Phoenix Energy, Jakob Wheeler supports surface access needs across active projects. Before joining Phoenix, he worked as a roustabout for Robby Ridl Trucking, where he gained valuable field experience and helped build several new production batteries, giving him a strong, practical understanding of day-to-day field operations.

Known for his positive attitude and clear communication, Jakob takes pride in being someone the team can depend on. Originally from Manhattan, Illinois, he made a major move—16 hours from home—to start his career in the oilfield, an accomplishment he’s especially proud of. He also has two dogs back home that he misses often.

Outside of work, Jakob enjoys deer hunting, and when the weather gets too cold, he’s all about board games. At Phoenix Energy, he hopes to contribute wherever he’s needed and bring a cheerful, can-do spirit to the team.
