Geoffrey Tibbals is a Senior Reservoir Engineer in the Corporate Reserves group at Phoenix Energy. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering from the University of Colorado and has spent his entire career as a reservoir engineer in Denver, building deep expertise across multiple basins and company types. His background includes roles at MHA Petroleum Consultants, Crestone Peak Resources (DJ Basin), Northwoods Energy (Powder River Basin), and Raisa Energy, a non-operated company where he ran reserves. He brings strong proficiency in Aries and extensive experience interfacing with third-party reserves auditors and financial institutions. A standout achievement in his career was providing analysis for land trades that enabled the drilling of extended laterals, resulting in over $100 million in added value.
Geoffrey is drawn to the continuous challenge his work presents—whether it means improving accuracy, increasing efficiency, or analyzing a new area. At Phoenix Energy, he is focused on accurately tracking reserves to support the company’s growth and long-term value, bringing the same rigorous, detail-oriented approach that has defined his career.
A native of Centennial, Colorado, Geoffrey is married with three children—two daughters and a son. Outside of work, he enjoys attending sporting events, cooking, gardening, and coaching his daughter’s soccer team. Most of all, he values the time he gets to spend with his family.
