Steph Suko is the Imaging Manager in the Land department at Phoenix Energy, bringing over 15 years of experience in the oil and gas industry. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Accounting and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Dickinson State University. Before joining Phoenix Energy, Steph built and managed the administrative framework for her previous company’s HSE training program—overseeing scheduling, compliance monitoring, and documentation while partnering closely with Operations Managers across the organization. A standout achievement was developing an automated training compliance reporting system delivering weekly company-wide reports on certifications, OJT progress, and career advancement pathways. She joined Phoenix Energy as a contractor imager in Dunn County and played a key role in expanding the imaging program from a single county to coverage across nearly every courthouse in the Bakken.
Steph is energized by the puzzle of it—every courthouse has its own systems and quirks, and she genuinely enjoys figuring out how each one works and building processes that stay consistent across all of them. Her goal is to continue growing in process improvement and systems development, finding practical solutions that make the Land team’s work more efficient and accessible.
Born and raised near Jamestown, North Dakota, Steph has called Dickinson home for over 20 years. She has been a member of Lions Clubs International for over 16 years and completed the Great Plains Lions Leadership Institute—a commitment to community service she remains proud of. Outside of work, she enjoys reading, painting, board games, spending time with friends and family, and relearning German. She shares her home with her cat Ole—whose name rhymes with “holy” and “goalie.”
