He holds a B.S. in Petroleum Engineering from the Colorado School of Mines and an MBA from Oklahoma State University, blending deep technical knowledge with a strong foundation in business strategy. His background includes extensive field operations, technician roles, and reservoir engineering across the Williston, DJ, Powder River, and Anadarko basins, as well as systems engineering experience at Sandia National Laboratories.
Throughout his career, Thomas has led several acquisition and development projects that enhanced company performance and guided strategic decision-making. His expertise in asset development and reservoir modeling allows him to contribute to efficient, data-driven operations and well optimization. At Phoenix Energy, Thomas is passionate about applying his technical skills and collaborative approach to help the company achieve its production goals while maintaining operational excellence.
Originally from Santa Rosa, California, and raised in Colorado Springs, Thomas now resides in Denver, CO, with his family. Outside of work, he enjoys baseball, golf, and snowboarding, and is proud to have earned MVP honors in the 2025 NABA baseball playoffs.
