Mark Murtha

Surface Landman & Owner Relations Specialist

Mark Murtha is a Surface Landman and Owner Relations Specialist in the Land department at Phoenix Energy, bringing four years of experience in land and a background that spans mineral acquisitions and construction project engineering. He graduated from Colorado State University and has built his career around understanding landowner needs and finding practical solutions that work for everyone involved. His expertise covers surface negotiations, easements, road and pipeline corridors, and mineral leasing—giving him the ability to speak credibly to landowners about both sides of development.

What Mark loves most about his work is the community connection—getting out from behind the desk, meeting landowners face to face, and becoming a trusted presence in the areas where Phoenix Energy operates. His goal is to be the person Phoenix can send into any situation and trust to come out with a positive outcome.

A Denver native, Mark comes from a close-knit Christian family—his father serves as Chief of Police in Wheat Ridge, Colorado. He is passionate about animal welfare and has fostered many dogs in need of a home. Outside of work, he enjoys jet skis, hiking with his dog, and trying new restaurants
