He holds a Juris Doctor (JD) and has held senior leadership roles including Vice President of Business Development and Legal at Caliber Midstream and Vice President of Business Development at Sterling Energy. Steve’s key areas of expertise include oil and gas law, negotiation, and marketing economic evaluations. A defining achievement in his career is successfully turning around a bankrupt midstream company and transforming it into a profitable enterprise.

Steve is energized by working with a strong team to build and develop marketing strategy, and he is motivated by a consistent drive to provide lasting value and growth to the organization. At Phoenix Energy, he brings his marketing and legal expertise to support the company’s development program and help shape the trajectory of its marketing operations.

Originally from Salt Lake City, Utah, Steve has been married for 18 years and has three children. A lifelong learner, he spent two years living in Ukraine where he became fluent in Russian—an experience that reflects his adaptability and curiosity. Outside of work, Steve enjoys hunting and spending quality time with his family.
